The Consequences of Willful Sin | September 20, 2026
Hebrews 10:26-31 delivers one of the most sobering warnings in all of Scripture, directed not at unbelievers but at born-again Christians. Willful, persistent sin is not about stumbling or moments of weakness. It describes a deliberate, ongoing pattern of defying what God has clearly said. Believers who settle into this kind of lifestyle expose themselves to God's fatherly discipline, dishonor the person and work of Jesus Christ, and insult the Holy Spirit who dwells within them. Nothing is hidden from God, and He will not ignore persistent rebellion indefinitely. Yet this passage is ultimately a call to repentance, not a sentence of condemnation. God is faithful to forgive those who humble themselves and return to Him.
