Pressing on to Maturity (Part 1)

Hebrews 5:11-6:8

Every believer faces a critical choice: press forward toward spiritual maturity or remain stuck in spiritual infancy. The Book of Hebrews warns that there's no neutral ground in our walk with Jesus - we're either moving forward or backward. Spiritual regression shows itself through three warning signs: inability to teach others basic Christian truths, lack of desire for deeper biblical understanding, and poor discernment between good and evil. Just like physical fitness requires consistent effort to maintain strength, spiritual growth demands intentional practices like studying God's Word, faithful church attendance, prayer, and service. The call to spiritual maturity isn't optional for believers - it's an expectation that requires us to press forward today.
