New Year, Same Gospel (12/28/25)
2 Corinthians 5:16-21
The Gospel offers something far greater than New Year’s resolutions or surface-level changes – it makes us completely new creations. Through Christ, God transforms our vision, giving us a new way of seeing people and ourselves. We receive a new identity not based on our performance but on being united with Christ. God initiates reconciliation with us, bearing the cost of our hostility toward Him. As new creations, we become ambassadors carrying the message of reconciliation to others. The Gospel declares that Jesus was treated as we deserve so we can be treated as He deserves, giving us perfect righteousness before God.
