Hebrews 3:1-6
The book of Hebrews calls Christians to carefully contemplate Jesus rather than giving Him only a passing glance. To consider Jesus means to fix our eyes and minds upon Him with sustained attention, like studying a masterpiece. Jesus serves as both the ultimate apostle - God's sent messenger with divine authority - and our great high priest who bridges the gap between God and humanity through His perfect sacrifice. Unlike Moses, who was a faithful servant in God's house, Jesus is the Son over God's house and the divine builder. Christians must evaluate where they invest their deepest thoughts and attention, choosing to gaze upon Jesus rather than merely glancing at Him while focusing on worldly distractions.
