Hebrews 4:1-13
The fear of missing out on God's rest should motivate Christians toward action, not paralysis. In Hebrews 4:1-13, believers are called to fear falling short of God's promises of both eternal rest and present spiritual victory. The wilderness generation serves as a warning - they heard about the Promised Land but chose unbelief over faith and died without experiencing God's rest. Similarly, Christians today can hear about God's promises but fail to experience the victorious life through lack of faith and obedience. This healthy fear should drive us to daily trust and obey God, keeping our hearts tender toward His Word and Spirit to avoid missing the abundant life He offers.
