Guard Your Heart

Hebrews 3:7-19
Our hearts are incredibly valuable and require intentional protection from hardening toward God. A hardened heart is characterized by distrust and disobedience, leading us to withdraw from the living God. The Israelites in the wilderness serve as a sobering example - despite witnessing God's miracles for 40 years, they hardened their hearts and were denied entry into the Promised Land. We can guard our hearts through three key practices: heeding Scripture's warnings by actively applying God's Word to our lives, encouraging one another daily within the church community to combat sin's deception, and remembering our special relationship with Christ and what He has done for us. Regular spiritual vigilance is essential because even mature believers can experience heart hardening through small compromises and spiritual complacency.
