God’s Purposes in Work (9/21/25)
God designed work as more than just a means to earn money. Work was established before sin entered the world and serves multiple divine purposes. Through our labor, we imitate God who is Himself a worker. Work also brings joy and satisfaction, enables us to support ourselves and be generous to others, and protects us from negative behaviors like theft and idleness. Whether paid or unpaid, our work matters to God and serves as a way to reflect His image in the world. While work is important, our salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.
