Christ the King (12/14/25)
Matthew 2:1-12
Christmas is about more than traditions and gifts—it’s about acknowledging Jesus Christ as King. The Magi from Matthew 2 provide a powerful example of how to properly recognize Christ’s kingship. These foreign astrologers traveled hundreds of miles with intentional purpose to find the newborn King, while God’s own people failed to respond appropriately. Their example shows us four essential ways to acknowledge Jesus as King: seeking Him intentionally rather than accidentally, rejoicing over Him with great joy, worshiping Him with reverence and surrender, and giving Him costly gifts that demonstrate His worth. This Christmas, don’t let Jesus be the one you accidentally ignore while focusing on everything else.
