Treasure in Jars of Clay (10/19/25)
2 Corinthians 4:7-18
Life often overwhelms us with difficulties, but God deliberately places His treasure in fragile clay jars – ordinary, broken people – so His power shines through our weakness. Paul reveals that while we face affliction, perplexity, persecution, and being struck down, we are never crushed, driven to despair, forsaken, or destroyed. Our suffering serves a missionary purpose, displaying Christ’s death and resurrection to others. The key to endurance is shifting focus from temporary pain to eternal glory, recognizing that our present troubles are preparing us for incomparable future joy. As our outer selves decay, God renews us internally, using our weakness as opportunities for His strength to be revealed.
