Psalm 38
King David’s experience in Psalm 38 reveals what happens when our sin brings God’s discipline into our lives. David faced spiritual distance from God, physical illness, and relational isolation as consequences of his wrongdoing. However, he demonstrates the proper response: pleading with God for mercy, taking full responsibility without making excuses, and trusting in God’s character to respond with grace. When we find ourselves suffering due to our poor choices, God remains our only true hope for both forgiveness and restoration.
